Path to net-zero

Many large companies have set goals to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, but they continue to revise their plans for achieving those targets.

Carbon offsets are often a feature of companies' climate goals. However, skeptics say inconsistent standards, varying quality among offset providers and the potential for greenwashing complicate that market.

At the same time, companies face the challenge of meeting competing requirements around reporting and disclosure, as well as figuring out how best to incorporate renewable energy into operations and other obstacles. With geopolitical conflicts and concerns about the economy, many companies are being forced to rethink their approach to hitting emissions reduction deadlines.
