Mariner Kemper is chairman, president and chief executive
officer for UMB Financial Corporation. He has been with the
company for more than 20 years and has served many roles
including president of UMB Bank Colorado, n.a. and executive
vice president of UMB Financial Corporation. He has been in
his current role since May 2004.
In 2013 Kemper was recognized by Forbes as “America’s 7th
Most Powerful CEO 40 and Under.” He also was honored by
American Banker as its Community Banker of the Year in 2008.
Additionally, under Kemper’s leadership, UMB Bank, n.a. has been
recognized as one of 31 banking institutions named to KBW’s 2013
“Bank Honor Roll.” UMB Bank was also entered into the Congressional
Record in 2010 for excellent performance during the financial crisis.
