Media M&A

CBS Radio completed its deal with Clear Channel Communications Inc., swapping five midsize-market radio stations for two large-market stations. CBS Corp. said April 1 that its radio unit divested the midsize-market stations to focus on large markets.

Disney Online, part of the Disney Interactive Media Group, said April 1 that it signed an agreement to acquire Internet assets, including Web sites, from Canada-based Kaboose Inc. for approximately $18.4 million. Disney Interactive is a unit of Walt Disney Co.

As part of an attempt to refine its business strategy, mobile-advertising company Ringleader Digital sold its ad network and pipeline to Access Mobile Advertising. Ringleader said April 1 that Access Mobile will be the first ad network to utilize the company's Spark platform.

Universal Map Group LLC on April 1 closed its acquisition of the assets of the business formerly conducted by JSK Map Services, a Knoxville, Tenn.-based publisher of regional and local maps sold throughout the southeastern United States. JSK was owned by the Truan family through a family partnership. Universal Map is an affiliate of the Spartan Organization Inc. and Kappa Media Group Inc.

Coral Gables, Fla.-based kabookaboo Marketing said March 31 that it acquired Miami-based boutique marketing firm Biegen Schunack Inc. As part of the deal, Lisa Schunack was named director of client services for kabookaboo.

Liberty Media Corp. unit TruePosition Inc. acquired a source code license from and an approximate 20% interest in Profilium Inc. TruePosition said March 31 that the source code license is exclusive for safety and security applications and nonexclusive for other uses.

Communications M&A

Anthony Buscemi acquired California-based Internet phone service provider Talk Motion. The Original Buscemi's Inc. said April 3 that Talk Motion's office and data center will be relocated to Fraser, Mich., where it will share its headquarters with Buscemi's two other companies, The Original Buscemi's and United Acceptance Corp.

Comcast Corp. is reportedly in talks to acquire the 50% stake in the New England Cable News Network that it does not already own from Hearst Corp. It is unclear how much Comcast will have to pay for the purchase, The Boston Globe reported March 31.
