Jason Yee Appointed Portfolio Manager of Janus Worldwide Fund

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 1, 2004--Jason Yee has been named portfolio manager of Janus Worldwide Fund effective July 1, 2004, Janus Capital Group President and Chief Investment Officer Gary Black announced today. Yee, who will continue to manage the highly ranked Janus Global Opportunities Fund, will succeed current Janus Worldwide Fund portfolio manager Laurence Chang, who is leaving the firm.

Yee also will manage the related Janus Adviser and Janus Aspen Series portfolios and a Janus World Funds product available to non-U.S. investors. In addition to a team of six research analysts, he will work with Doug Kirkpatrick, who will remain assistant portfolio manager of Janus Worldwide Fund, and Gregory Kolb, an analyst who has been promoted to assistant portfolio manager for both the Janus Worldwide and Janus Global Opportunities funds.

For the one-year period ended May 31, 2004, Janus Global Opportunities Fund outpaced 96% of its Lipper peer group, finishing 11th best out of 322 global funds based on total return. During the one-year period ending March 31, 2004, Janus Global Opportunities Fund significantly outperformed its benchmark, delivering a total return of 65.52% vs. 43.87% for the MSCI World Index. Since its inception in June 2001, Janus Global Opportunities Fund has delivered annual total returns of 10.40% vs. 0.63% for the MSCI World Index during the same time period.
