Item 5.02    Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On October 29, 2019, James Haught, the President and Chief Operating Officer of Western Alliance Bancorporation (the “Company”), resigned from the Company effective immediately.  Following Mr. Haught’s departure, Kenneth Vecchione will serve as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, and assume the responsibilities of principal operating officer.  Mr. Haught’s remaining responsibilities will be assumed by other executives within the Company, including Tim Boothe, Division President - Bridge Bank, who will be promoted to Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for technology and other banking operations.
In connection with his departure, the Company expects to enter into a separation and release agreement with Mr. Haught, the terms of which have not yet been finalized.
