| Senior Management | Wade K. DaweChairman and Chief Executive OfficerMr. Dawe is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Brigus Gold. He has been an entrepreneur in Canadian mining and venture capital industries since 1994 and has consistently demonstrated strong results for shareholders through strategic planning, quality acquisitions and partnerships, and by retaining and developing industry respected senior management and directors. He is Chairman and a Director of Stockport Exploration, and serves on the Board of Directors of Immunovaccine. Mr. Dawe has a bachelor of commerce degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he currently serves on the Advisory Board to the Faculty of Business Administration. Mr. Dawe's philanthropic activities include establishing and personally funding the annual James R. Pearcey Entrepreneurial Scholarship at Memorial University. Mr. Dawe, a native of Newfoundland and Labrador, is also a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), an international organization for business leaders. |
| Daniel Racine, P. EngPresident and Chief Operating Officer| Mr. Racine is Brigus’ President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to his appointment at Brigus, Mr. Racine was Senior Vice-President Mining of Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited where he oversaw Agnico’s global mining operations. Mr. Racine joined Agnico as a junior Mining Engineer in 1988 and
took on progressively more responsibility during his career with them. His roles included LaRonde Mine Manager; Vice-President,
Operations Manager; and Senior Vice-President Operations. During his 24 years with Agnico, the Company grew from a market
capitalization of $300 million with two small operating mines to a global mining leader with a market capitalization of $6.4 billion
with five large mines in three countries. |
| Jon Legatto, CAChief Financial OfficerMr. Legatto is a Chartered Accountant with over 16 years of experience, 13 years of which were spent with Ernst and Young in their audit and advisory practice serving both public and private entities. Prior to joining Brigus, he was the Senior Manager Compliance and Performance Improvement with Homburg Canada REIT, where he was responsible for that company’s corporate governance and performance improvement programs. Mr. Legatto obtained his CA in 2000 and is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University where he obtained Bachelor’s degrees in both Geology and Business Administration. Mr. Legatto is actively involved in the community and has held positions with the Canadian Progress Club Halifax, Progress Center for Early Intervention, and the Kidney Foundation of Canada – Nova Scotia branch. |
| Howard Bird, P. GeoSr. Vice President of ExplorationMr. Bird is the senior vice president of exploration for Brigus Gold and is currently responsible for the executive management and development of the Company’s global mineral projects and providing support for corporate and global operations. He is a senior executive and internationally experienced geologist with over eighteen years of diverse experience in the public mineral resource sector. Mr. Bird has experience in a range of commodities, including gold, base metals, platinum and diamonds. He has directed programs around the world for various companies including: Noranda Mining and Exploration, Corona Corporation and SouthernEra Resources. Inc., Mr. Bird is a practicing member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario and received his bachelor's degree with honours from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. |
| Marc BilodeauVice President of OperationsMr. Bilodeau is the Vice President of Operations at Brigus Gold. He is responsible for the safe production and development of Brigus Gold’s operations. Mr. Bilodeau has over 30 years of experience in all phases of underground and surface mining and senior management including evaluations, feasibility studies, and permitting. |
| Daniel F. GallivanCorporate Secretary| Mr. Gallivan is the Corporate Secretary of Brigus Gold. His responsibilities include managing the records of the Board of Directors, and ensuring that the Board of Directors has the proper advice and resources for discharging its fiduciary duty under the law. Mr. Gallivan is the Managing Partner of the Halifax office of Cox & Palmer and Chief Executive Officer of the regional law firm. Mr. Gallivan practices corporate and commercial law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, finance and securities law. He is involved in a number of organizations in Nova Scotia, including Banking Services and Investments (director of the Ombudsman) and Edleun Group. Since 2006, he has been listed as a leading practitioner by the publication, 'Best Lawyers in Canada.' Mr. Gallivan received his bachelor's degree from Loyola College in Quebec, his juris doctor degree from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, and his master's degree in business administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. |
