Village Bank and Trust Financial Corporation™ is organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia to engage in commercial and consumer banking. The Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Village Bank™, is a traditional community bank offering deposit and loan services to individuals and businesses in the suburbs surrounding Richmond, Virginia.
Since its inception in 1999, the Bank has embarked on a strategic retail branch expansion. Village Bank has fifteen (15) retail branch locations and provides commercial and consumer banking services in suburban Chesterfield County, Hanover County, Henrico County, Powhatan County and the City of Richmond. Our network of branches enables our franchise to serve and increasing larger portion of the greater Richmond should continue for the foreseeable future.
During 2003, the Company added complimentary mortgage lending services by establishing a wholly owned subsidiary of Village Bank, Village Bank Mortgage Corporation™, with its headquarters in suburban Chesterfield County.
The Directors, Officers and Employees of the Bank and the Mortgage Company enjoy a reputation for participation in over 50 different community service organizations. The Bank has received awards from a local government for its employment practices and it is a key sponsor of a non-profit foundation which assists the families of seriously wounded soldiers who are hospitalized at a primary care Veterans Hospital in Richmond.
The Company’s management team consists of a Senior Management team supported by several Bank and Mortgage Corporation department managers. The Company’s Village Bank subsidiary regulatory authorities are the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Federal Home Loan Bank Board and the Virginia State Corporation Commission’s Bureau of Financial Institutions. Village Bank is not a member of the Federal Reserve System.
