First Financial Northwest, Inc. is a Washington corporation headquartered in Renton, Washington, and is the holding company for First Financial Northwest Bank (Bank) and First Financial Diversified. First Financial Northwest, Inc. was formed on June 1, 2007, for the purpose of becoming a holding company for the Bank in connection with the conversion from a mutual holding company structure to a stock holding company structure.
First Financial Northwest Bank was established in 1923 as a Washington state-chartered savings and loan association, converted to a federal mutual savings and loan association in 1935, converted to a Washington state chartered mutual savings bank in 1992 and then in February of 2016 the Bank changed its charter to a Washington chartered commercial bank.
First Financial Northwest became a publicly traded company through an initial public offering in the fall of 2007. First Financial Northwest shares trade on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "FFNW."
In 2015, the Bank successfully expanded into a new market, with a state-of-the-art branch in Mill Creek, located in Snohomish County. In 2016, a second branch in Edmonds was opened. Our unique branch model implements a smaller footprint, leverages technology for efficient transaction flow, and incorporates the talent of our highly-skilled bankers.
