Sun Bancorp Inc. was established to serve as a holding company for the New Jersey-based Sun National Bank (the Bank), the Company's principal subsidiary. Through the Bank, the Company provides community banking services through community banking centers in New Jersey and Delaware. In November 2001, the Company completed its reorganization from a multi-bank holding company to a single bank holding company with the merger of Sun National Bank, Delaware into the Bank. Sun National Bank, Delaware was merged into Delaware City Bank, a building and loan association that was acquired by the Company, in November 2001, and immediately thereafter merged into the Bank. | |
