S. Y. Bancorp, Inc., with $1.8 billion in assets, was incorporated in 1988 as a bank holding company. It is the parent company of Stock Yards Bank & Trust Company which was established in 1904 in Louisville, Kentucky, and now has offices in the Louisville metropolitan area, Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
In addition to its banking operations, Stock Yards Bank & Trust Company offers a broad array of other financial services, including Stock Yards Trust Company, which provides investment management and trust services. With assets under management of $1.5 billion, Stock Yards Trust Company ranks as one of the largest trust departments in the state of Kentucky and is among the country's 100 largest bank trust companies. The bank also offers private banking and brokerage services. In addition, its mortgage company offers conventional, VA and FHA financing, as well as a program for low-income first-time homebuyers. The Company sells these residential mortgage loans, originated for both the purchase and refinancing of homes, into the secondary market.
