Independent Bank Corporation is a bank holding company with total assets of approximately $3 billion. Its subsidiary bank (Independent Bank) principally serves rural and suburban communities located across Michigan's Lower Peninsula. The Company also owns a title insurance agency (Independent Title Services) and an insurance agency (IBC Financial Services, Inc.).
Independent Bank emphasizes service and convenience as a principal means of competing in the delivery of financial services. Accordingly, the Company's community banking philosophy vests discretion and authority in the Bank's management while providing financial incentives to align the interests of such managers with those of its shareholders.
