"We are extremely pleased to be announcing the Bend Umpqua Bank store opening today and are looking forward to being a partner in this community," said Ray Davis, CEO, Umpqua Holdings Corporation. "While Umpqua has been serving Oregon communities for 50 years, we have a fresh approach to revolutionizing the banking experience for our customers, and we strive to improve upon that concept daily with each customer interaction."

Centrally located in Bend's downtown area, the bank store brings Umpqua's personalized service and a unique customer banking experience to the community. The new Umpqua Bank store features non-traditional bank amenities such as a large flat screen television for viewing financial broadcasts, retail-inspired elements such as shopping modules featuring hardback business books, the bank's own blend of coffee served daily and a complimentary Umpqua chocolate presented on a tray with each transaction.

Andy Gerlicher, an active member of the Bend community, joined Umpqua Bank in September 2003 as senior vice president and manager of Umpqua's Bend Commercial Banking Center to oversee the bank's efforts in coming to Bend. Gerlicher is joined by Darrin Quillen, store manager of the new Bend location, and his staff of Umpqua associates. To ensure exceptional customer service, all associates participated in Umpqua's highly-acclaimed training program at its World's Greatest Bank University in Roseburg, Ore.

Umpqua has planned a full schedule of grand opening activities in the coming weeks including a two-week official grand opening kick-off in the store, beginning Tuesday, June 1; an official ribbon cutting ceremony with the Bend Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, June 22 at 4:00 p.m.; and an open house during the First Friday Art Walk event Friday, July 2, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

In addition to 24-hour ATM banking, the Bend store features extended business hours: Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday until 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
