Environment

CREIT recognizes that, through conservation, recycling and sound environmental practices, benefits accrue to tenants, the community at large and ultimately to Unitholders.

CREIT has recycling programs in many large office properties across the country. Specific recycling results are measured, where practical, for paper, glass, metal, used computers, toner cartridges and other materials.

CREIT has selected the BOMA BESt (Building Owners and Managers Association Building Environmental Standards) as a national environmental recognition and certification program for existing commercial buildings. BOMA BESt certification is a statement that certain standards have been met for energy and water use, construction waste, recycling, hazardous materials, ozone depleting substances, indoor air quality and HVAC maintenance.

The following commercial buildings have achieved BOMA BESt Certifications:

Property Location Certification Level
1801 Hollis Street Halifax, Nova Scotia Silver
