* Q&A: The Outlook for Home Foreclosures

Time's Barbara Kiviat spoke with Rick Sharga of RealtyTrac about foreclosures and his outlook for housing: where we are, how we're doing and where we're going.

"We're finally at the point where we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and be reasonably sure it's not an oncoming train," Sharga said.

* Why This Real Estate Bust Is Different

* Cleveland casino must improve city's odds, not bring about other businesses' ends -- editorial

Get ready to be disappointed about casinos

Joe Hallett commentary: Reasons to oppose casinos are many

Different groups weighed in on the passage by Ohio voters of the referendum legalizing gaming in the state.

The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer editorial board said gaming could serve as a boon to Cleveland's economic and cultural health, as long as it doesn't cannibalize other downtown businesses: "[Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan] Gilbert's casino needs to be an engine for growth, not an end in itself. If it is, then Ohio voters will have given Cleveland a powerful tool for its own reinvention."

Cox News Service writes, "The vote was a reflection of just how receptive people have become to any promise of new jobs, however dubious the numbers."

Joe Hallett also wrote against the legalization of gaming in the state in a column in The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch and included information on what happened in some other states following casinos coming to town.
