Microsoft reportedly plans heavy R&D budget for 2010

Microsoft Corp. CEO Steve Ballmer reportedly said he expects the company to spend roughly $9.5 billion on research and development projects in 2010.

The Wall Street Journal reported that a hefty portion of that budget will go toward cloud computing. And of those dollars to be spent on the cloud, some will be spent specifically to build a research center for cloud computing in Taiwan.
