Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. said Nov. 4 that it will launch Food Network in Asia on Jan. 1, 2010.

The company said the new Food Network channel, which will be programmed and offered in different versions for specific countries, will be distributed through MEASAT Satellite Systems and Ascent Media and will be available in HD.

The Asian version of the channel will include original programming from the regions it will reach, as well as relevant shows that were produced for U.S. audiences.

Further, as previously announced, the company teamed up with Chello Zone to launch Food Network in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. As part of the deal, Food Network will launch in the U.K. on Nov. 9, the company said.

Scripps Networks recently announced plans to rebrand Fine Living as Cooking Channel domestically in third quarter 2010.
