Comcast Corp. is bringing more movies in HD the same day as their DVD releases for its on-demand customers.

Comcast said Nov. 3 that it is increasing day-and-date movies through partnerships with major studios including Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros.-New Line, News Corp.'s Fox, NBC Universal Inc.'s Universal, Summit, Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., Sony, Viacom Inc.'s Paramount and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.

Comcast's on-demand program library offers more than 17,000 entertainment programs with more than 2,600 choices in HD each month.
