Monarch Community Bancorp Inc.'s board decided to discontinue the quarterly cash dividend previously paid on shares of its common stock, according to a Nov. 3 news release.

The dividend suspension will continue until the company returns to a "viable level of profitability," President and CEO Donald Denney said in the press release.
