Boston Private Financial Holdings Inc. unit First Private Bank & Trust based in Encino, Calif., said Nov. 3 that it named John Tellenbach executive vice president and chief lending officer, commercial banking.

Tellenbach previously served as southwest director of small-business banking at Wachovia Bank. Additionally, he held various senior management positions at Wells Fargo & Co. unit Wells Fargo Bank NA.
