CorVel Corp. repurchased 581,000 shares for $17 million during the quarter ended Sept. 30, as disclosed in a Nov. 3 news release.

As of Sept. 30, the company had 12,405,000 outstanding shares.

For the quarter, the company reported net income of $6.4 million, or 50 cents per share, compared to $5.0 million, or 36 cents per share, in the year-ago period.
