ICE reports average daily volume for October

IntercontinentalExchange Inc. on Nov. 3 reported average daily volume across its three futures exchanges of 1,076,498 contracts for October, an increase of 1% from October 2008.

ICE said total futures volume for the month was 23.7 million contracts. Year-to-date average daily volume of 1,036,352 contracts was an increase of 11% compared to the first 10 months of 2008.

ICE Futures Europe and ICE Futures U.S. each had 22 trading days in October, while ICE Futures Canada had 21.
