Newtek Business Services Inc. said in a Form 8-K filed Nov. 2 that the debt of two of its certified capital companies, located in Louisiana and Wisconsin, has been repaid.

The debt of these certified capital companies matured, and the original insurance company investors received full repayment of the amounts advanced to the certified capital companies. American International Group Inc. unit American International Specialty Lines Insurance Co., rebranded as Chartis Specialty Insurance Co. amid AIG's recent travails, made cash payments during October as contracted, which provided the credit enhancement to the certified capital company notes.

With these, American International Specialty Lines Insurance has made their scheduled repayments in full of Newtek Business Services certified capital companies debt of approximately $70.1 million during 2009.
