EdF Energies Nouvelles subsidiary enXco Inc. on Nov. 2 said it began construction on the 50-MW Linden Wind project in Klickitat County, Wash.

The facility is expected to be operational in early 2010, the company said.

The Linden Wind farm consists of 25 REpower MM92 turbines. The plant received Southern California Public Power Authority approval in August, and the notice to proceed was delivered in early October.

The project will supply electricity to the SCPPA on behalf of participating members Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and the city of Glendale, Calif.

LADWP will provide project management for the SCPPA participants. The utility will receive 90%, or 45 MW, of power produced by the wind farm. The project will use existing transmission to deliver power generated by the plant to Los Angeles, enXco said.

EdF Energies Nouvelles is a subsidiary of Electricité de France, which is an EDF Group subsidiary.
