Peter A. Converse Chief Executive Officer
A community banker for over 37 years in the Washington Metropolitan Area, Mr. Converse has served as President, CEO and Director at Virginia Commerce Bank since January 1994. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Converse served in several senior management lending positions including: Senior Vice President/Chief Lending Officer, Federal Capital Bank, WDC (March 1992 to December 1993); Senior Vice President/Banking Center Head, Bank of Maryland, Bethesda, MD (October 1990 to March 1992); Executive Vice President/Chief Lending Officer, Century National Bank, WDC (May 1986 to July 1990); Senior Vice President/Chief Lending Officer, Central National Bank, Silver Spring, MD (July 1979 to April 1986).
Richard B. Anderson Jr. Chief Lending Officer
Mr. Anderson, Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, joined Virginia Commerce in May 1996. Prior to that, Mr. Anderson was Senior Vice President/Senior Commercial Loan Officer at Allegiance Bank, N.A., Bethesda, Maryland (March 1987 to April 1996). Mr Anderson has over 34 years of managerial, administrative and operational lending experience.
Patricia M. Ostrander Chief Administrative Officer
Ms. Ostrander, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, joined Virginia Commerce Bank in May 1994 as Loan Administration Officer. Prior to joining the Bank, Ms. Ostrander was a Loan Administration Officer at Tysons National Bank, McLean, Virginia (December 1992 to April 1994). Ms. Ostrander has over 22 years of managerial, administrative and operational lending experience in the banking industry.
Steven A. Reeder Chief Deposit Officer
Mr. Reeder, Executive Vice President and Chief Deposit Officer, joined Virginia Commerce Bank in June 2005. Prior to that, Mr. Reeder was Senior Vice President at BB&T in Northern Virginia (October 2003 to June 2005) after its acquisition of First Virginia Bank, Falls Church, Virginia (March 1990 to October 2003) where he also served as Senior Vice President. Mr. Reeder has over 22 years of retail banking and managerial experience.
Christopher J. Ewing Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Ewing, Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, joined Virginia Commerce Bank in November 2011. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Ewing was Senior Vice President of Retail Banking Operations and Support Services for Beneficial Bank, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2010-2011). He also held similar management positions at Capital One Bank, McLean, Virginia (2007-2009), and Commerce (TD) Bank, Mount Laurel, New Jersey (1999-2007). Mr. Ewing has over 26 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Mark S. Merrill Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Merrill, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, joined Virginia Commerce Bank in February 2012. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Merrill was Executive Vice President and CFO for Tower Bancorp, Inc., Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (March 2009 – February 2012) after its merger with Graystone Financial Corp. (May 2006 – March 2009) where he served as Chief Financial Officer beginning in 2007. He also held senior financial positions at Transcore, Hummelstown, Pennsylvania (2005 – 2006), Waypoint Bank, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (2003 – 2005), and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (1999 – 2003). Mr. Merrill has over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Dennis M. Coombe Chief Credit Officer
Mr. Coombe, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, joined Virginia Commerce Bank in November 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Coombe was Executive Vice President at United Bank in Vienna, Virginia (2000 to 2009). He also held management positions at Chevy Chase Bank in Bethesda, Maryland (1988 to 1999) and several other regional banks beginning in 1972. Mr. Coombe has over 41 years of bank lending and credit experience.

Kenneth R. Lehman
A private investor and attorney with expertise in community banking. Mr. Lehman has been a founding director of other community banks outside our area and continues to serve on some of their Boards. A long-time VCBI investor, Mr. Lehman has an extensive background that includes service as an attorney/advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission and as a founding partner of a Washington, D.C. law firm that consistently ranked among the top law firms in the nation specializing in corporate, transactional and regulatory matters for financial institutions.
Todd A. Stottlemyer
Presently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Acentia. Prior to that, Mr. Stottlemyer was Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Services Officer for the Inova Health System. Prior to joining Inova’s executive management team, Mr. Stottlemyer co-founded
and served as CEO and member of the Board of Directors of an
information technology company with clients that included the U.S.
Departments of Homeland Security and Defense. He also served as
President and CEO of the nation’s largest business association representing small and independent business owners across the United States and was a former chairman of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce.
Leonard Adler
Chairman of the Board, Adler Financial Group (real estate and investments); Principal, Total Crafts (retail craft chain). Director of Virginia Commerce Bank, 1989 to 1991 and 1998 to current.
Michael G. Anzilotti
Served as President of Virginia Commerce Bancorp, Inc. and as a member of the Bank's Executive Management team from 2004 until his retirement from the Bank in 2010. He remains a Director. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Anzilotti spent virtually his entire banking career with First Virginia Bank, most recently as President and CEO of its flagship northern Virginia operation. He began his career with First Virginia in 1971 as a management trainee in the accounting department. He went on to serve as Senior Vice President and CFO, President of the Northern Virginia Operations Center, and Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer before his ultimate role as President and CEO of First Virginia Bank in Northern Virginia. Mr. Anzilotti has over 39 years of experience in the banking industry.

Thomas E. Burdette
Mr. Burdette has 37 years of public accounting experience in the Commonwealth of Virginia. His company has twice been named 'Best Professional Firm' by the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Burdette gives seminars on developing and managing a successful tax practice. The Chamber also has previously recognized him as “Business Leader of the Year.”
In addition to serving on the advisory boards of several banks in the Metro DC area, Mr. Burdette was a founding Director of Potomac Bank until its sale to Sandy Spring Bank. He has been dedicated to civic and community organizations, having served as President of the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, Fairfax Rotary Club and the Country Club or Fairfax.
