Chairman of the Board of Directors
James W. Cross IV Mr. Cross is President of Century Construction Company, Inc., a General Contractor in Franklin, Tennessee. Mr. Cross also serves as President of Land Contractors, Inc., a site development firm also based in Franklin, Tennessee.

Mr. Cross has more than 20 years of business experience in Tennessee, beginning his career at Century Construction Company, Inc., a firm started by his father, James W. Cross, III in 1958. He served on the Board of Directors of Franklin Financial Corporation, parent of Franklin National Bank and the Tennessee affiliate Board of Directors of Fifth Third Bank in Franklin, Tennessee. Mr. Cross is a member of the Board of Directors of Williamson Medical Center, Battle Ground Academy, and the Williamson County Library Foundation. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Franklin Tomorrow, Leadership Franklin, Youth Leadership Franklin, the Franklin-Williamson County Chamber of Commerce and the Williamson County Library.

Jimmy E. Allen Mr. Allen is the President of Venture Express, Inc.; Creative Transportation; Allen's Cartage Company, LaVergne, Tennessee; and co-owner of Center Hill Marina & Yacht Club. He joined the Board of Directors of Franklin Financial Network, Inc. in July 2014, upon the sale of MidSouth Bank in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to Franklin Synergy Bank.

Mr. Allen attended Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tennessee and the University of Tennessee, Nashville. He formerly served as a member of the board of directors of MidSouth Bank, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Rutherford Bank & Trust, Murfreesboro and Independent Bank, Gallatin, Tennessee. In addition, he served as past chairman of Tennessee Trucking Association and Nashville Motor Freight. Mr. Allen's past accomplishments include being selected as Nashville Business Journal's Executive of the Year. He is a supporter of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.
Dr. David H. Kemp
Dr. David H. Kemp
Dr. David H. Kemp Dr. Kemp has more than 24 years of healthcare experience in Franklin, Tennessee. He opened Kemp Orthodontics in Franklin and Brentwood in 1986 and has owned and operated the business since that time. In addition, he serves on the Advisory Council of 3M Unitek in Monrovia, California, advising on new products and improvements to existing orthodontic products.

Dr. Kemp served as an Advisory Board member to First Tennessee Bank in Franklin, supporting Regional Presidents in the accomplishment of their responsibilities by assisting in contacts with community leaders.

Dr. Kemp holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Tennessee, Martin, Tennessee. He is also a graduate of The University of Tennessee, Center for the Health Sciences, Memphis Tennessee and holds both a Doctor of Dental Science and a Postdoctoral Master of Science in Orthodontics.

Lee M. Moss Mr. Moss is the President of Franklin Synergy Bank and Franklin Financial Network. He joined the Board of Directors of Franklin Financial Network, Inc. in July 2014, upon the sale of MidSouth Bank in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to Franklin Synergy Bank.

Mr. Moss served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MidSouth Bank, where he served as one of the organizers of the bank in 2005. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Banking. Mr. Moss served in numerous leadership positions with Third National Bank/SunTrust Bank in Nashville, Tennessee and Murfreesboro, Tennessee, during a 28 year career with the bank. He is a graduate of National Commercial Lending School and the Graduate School of Banking of the South.

Mr. Moss has been very active in the community, serving as Past President of The University of Tennessee (Davidson County) Alumni Chapter, UT National Alumni Board, President of the Downtown Optimist Club, and Secretary of the American Cancer Society. Since moving to Murfreesboro, Mr. Moss currently serves as Chairman of Middle Tennessee Medical Center's Board, member of Saint Thomas Health Services Board in Nashville, MTSU Wesley Foundation Board Member, Business Education Partnership Board, and as a Sunday school teacher and Administrative board member for First United Methodist Church.

He previously served as a member of the College of Business Administration Advisory Council at MTSU, Chairman of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the United Way, President of the Discovery Center, National President of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, President of the American Heart Association, and Trustee of the MTSU Foundation. Moss is a graduate of Leadership Rutherford and Leadership Middle Tennessee. He was the recipient of MTSU's 2005 Champion of Free Enterprise, the Chamber of Commerce's 2006 Business Person of the Year, and as the Y's 2012 Humanitarian of the Year.
Dr. Anil C. Patel

Dr. Anil C. Patel Dr. Patel was born and raised in Lusaka, Zambia. He earned his bachelor’s and medical degrees from the University of Zambia in 1979 and 1982, respectively. Dr. Patel came to Nashville, Tennessee after finishing medical school to practice medicine in the United States. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baptist Hospital in 1988, his fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Vanderbilt University in 1990, and his Masters of Business Administration at the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Business in 1998. Dr. Patel has been providing gastroenterology services to his patients at his endoscopy center in Clarksville,Tennessee since 1993.

Dr. Patel has also been involved with the construction of several Marriott hotels and retirement communities in the Middle Tennessee area, and in 2005, he helped organize Civic Bank & Trust. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Civic until its merger with Franklin Synergy Bank.

Paul M. Pratt Jr. Mr. Pratt has more than 25 years of financial services and business experience in Franklin, Tennessee. In 1983, Mr. Pratt began his financial services career with Full Service Insurance, an independent insurance broker in Franklin, Tennessee, rising to become President/CEO, the position he holds today.

Mr. Pratt is a 1983 graduate of Columbia State Community College with an Associate Degree in Engineering. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Franklin Noon Rotary Club since 2003 and currently serves as President of the Board. Mr. Pratt also serves on the Board of Directors of the Williamson Medical Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to philanthropic community gifts to Williamson Medical Center in Franklin. Mr. Pratt also served on the Williamson County Advisory Board of Cumberland Bank until April 2007.

Pamela J. Stephens Ms. Stephens is a Funeral Director and part owner of Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Franklin, Tennessee and Spring Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Spring Hill, Tennessee.

From 2003-2007, Ms. Stephens served on the Board of Directors of Cumberland Bank in Franklin, Tennessee. She is a Paul Harris Fellow where she served as charter president of the Rotary Club of Spring Hill. She is a past president of the Cemetery Association of Tennessee and past president of the Southern Cemetery and Funeral Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the Franklin-Williamson County Chamber of Commerce and Board of Director of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association.

Melody J. Sullivan Ms. Sullivan founded the first woman-owned CPA firm in Franklin, Tennessee’s Historic Downtown business district in July of 1986 after working as a staff accountant for one of Nashville’s most respected business owners and CPA firms, and serving as comptroller for a local food service company.

She served on the Board of Directors of Franklin National Bank for 14 years and Fifth Third Bank for 5 years. Ms. Sullivan is a member and past president of the Franklin Breakfast Rotary Club. She is a past president of the Board of Directors of Franklin Family YMCA and has served on the Board of Directors of United Way of Williamson County, Franklin Tomorrow, the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber of Commerce, The March of Dimes, Williamson County CASA, and Historic Carnton Plantation. She currently serves on the board of Waves, a non-profit that enables individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to progress toward their full potential.

Ms. Sullivan is a graduate of Leadership Franklin. She is a past chairperson of the Small Business Development Division of the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber of Commerce.

Greg Waldron Mr. Waldron is a partner and managing member of Waldron Enterprises, LLC, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Waldron Enterprises is a residential construction and apartment management firm. He joined the Board of Directors of Franklin Financial Network, Inc. in May 2015.

Mr. Waldron holds a State of Tennessee Contractors License; Residential, Commercial and Industrial Certifications. He was an organizer and served on the Board of Directors of MidSouth Bank in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Rutherford County Homebuilders Association, as well as Middle Tennessee Christian School (MTCS. He also served as Vice Chairman at MTCS. Waldron earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Benjamin P. Wynd Mr. Wynd is a Certified Public Accountant and partner at Smiley CPAs, a Franklin, Tennessee based firm that has been serving the local community for more than twenty-nine years. Prior to joining Smiley CPAs in November 2014, Wynd was heavily involved in Nashville’s healthcare industry, serving as the Director of Financial Reporting at Tenet Healthcare/Vanguard.

Wynd is a graduate of Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky; he is currently a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Wynd also serves on the Board of Directors at Outdoor Encounter, a Franklin-based non-profit organization that’s mission is to improve the quality of life for those around us – not only by preserving green space, but by making that valuable space accessible to people of all ages.

J. Myers Jones III Mr. Jones serves as Chief Executive Officer of Franklin Financial Network and Franklin Synergy Bank. He was formerly the Chief Credit Officer for the Bank. Mr. Jones started his banking career at Commerce Union Bank in Nashville and served as President and CEO of Franklin National Bank for thirteen years prior to Franklin National’s acquisition by Fifth Third Bank. In addition he served as Executive Vice President of Commercial Lending at Cadence Bank.

Mr. Jones is a graduate of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee and the Herbert V. Prochnow Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition, Mr. Myers is a graduate of the ABA National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Jones serves on the Board of WorkForce Essentials, Inc. a non-traditional, private, non-profit organization with locations in 35 Tennessee counties, specializing in workforce development, job training and placement.

Chris Black Mr. Black serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Franklin Financial Network and Franklin Synergy Bank. Black most recently served as Senior Vice President and CFO, Banking, for Nashville-based FirstBank, having joined FirstBank in May 2016.

Previously, Black worked in the investment management and investment research industries, specializing in the banking sector while at Merrill Lynch & Co. and ISI Group, both based in New York City. Prior to working in the private sector, Black served for over nine years as an Officer and pilot in the United States Air Force. Black earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University with a major in Engineering and his Master of Business Administration from Auburn University, with a concentration in Finance.

Ashley P. Hill, III Mr. Hill serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer of Franklin Synergy Bank. He has more than 28 years of financial services experience in Middle Tennessee, previously serving at Third National Bank and Brentwood National Bank as Senior Vice President and Commercial Lender.

Mr. Hill also served at Trans Financial Bank as Community President over markets in Davidson, Williamson, Maury, and Rutherford counties. In 1998, he joined the Cumberland Bank and Civitas Bank Group family, progressing to the position of Chief Operating Officer before joining the Civitas Bank Group holding company in 2003 as Director of Corporate Risk Management. Mr. Hill was a key member of the executive management turnaround team at Civitas. Upon the sale of Civitas Bank Group to Green Bank, Mr. Hill founded Franklin Synergy Bank in 2007 with a team of veteran local bankers.

Mr. Hill is a Middle Tennessee native, a graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy and Auburn University. He received a Masters in Banking from Graduate School of Banking of the South at LSU and is also a graduate of the Tennessee Commercial Lending School of the Tennessee Banker’s Association. Mr. Hill is a past Chairman and currently serves as Treasurer of the Nashville Chapter of Delta Waterfowl Foundation.

Terry R. Howell Mr. Howell serves as Executive Vice President and Corporate Risk Officer of Franklin Financial Network and the Interim Chief Operating Officer for Franklin Synergy Bank. Mr. Howell has more than 30 years’ of financial services experience, previously serving at Civic Bank & Trust as Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer, Red River Bank, and First Tennessee Bank in Memphis, TN.

Howell is a graduate of the Executive Masters of Business Administration program at the University of Memphis’ Fogelman College of Business and Economics, and has his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Howell is an active community volunteer, having served on numerous nonprofit Boards. Past Boards include: American Red Cross, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, United Way, and the Boys & Girls Club.

D. Edwin Jernigan Jr. Mr. Jernigan serves as Executive Vice President and Financial Executive for Franklin Synergy Bank’s Wealth Management group. He joined Franklin Synergy Bank in July 2014, upon the acquisition of MidSouth Bank in Murfreesboro, Tennessee by Franklin Synergy Bank. Mr. Jernigan is a life-long resident of Murfreesboro and a graduate of Auburn University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Mr. Jernigan has also served our country in the United States Army as an officer and UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot-in-command.

Prior to his banking career Mr. Jernigan was Owner and President of The Jernigan Agency, a full service insurance and financial consulting firm representing numerous insurance and financial services companies. He is licensed in property, casualty, life, and health insurance, and maintains Series 7, 63, 65, and 9/10 securities registrations. Mr. Jernigan’s professional accreditations include Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF). He serves as Financial Executive with Raymond James Financial, Inc.

Mr. Jernigan has served as President of the Board of Directors for The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring, providing hands-on education opportunities for the community. He has also served as Chairman of the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Commission; is a member of the Board of Directors for Murfreesboro Young Life; and member of the Murfreesboro Golf Commission.

Mr. Maynard started his banking career at Franklin National Bank in Franklin and served as Vice President in Credit and Commercial Lending areas for eight years prior to Franklin National's acquisition by Fifth Third Bank. In addition he served as Vice President of Commercial Lending at Colonial Bank and most recently as Senior Vice President and Assistant Chief Credit Officer of Franklin Synergy Bank.

Mr. Maynard is a graduate of West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mr. Maynard currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Risk Management Association of Middle Tennessee and has previously served on various non-profit organization boards in Williamson County.

David McDaniel Mr. McDaniel serves as the Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer and Williamson County President. He leads the Commercial Banking teams in the current Franklin Synergy footprint of Davidson, Rutherford and Williamson counties.

In a financial services career that spans more than 27 years, all here in Middle Tennessee, Mr. McDaniel has held leadership roles at Community First Bank & Trust, First American National Bank and Equitable Securities. Mr. McDaniel is a Middle Tennessee native, a graduate of Brentwood Academy and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, with a concentration in Finance. Mr. McDaniel is a graduate of the American Bankers Association Private Wealth Management School at Emory University.

Mr. McDaniel is a graduate of Leadership Franklin and a member of the Williamson County Chamber. He serves on the board of the City of Franklin Employee Pension & Trust Committee and the Health & Educational Facilities Board.
