Julian Broggio
Senior Vice President, Director of Marketing
Julian joined Monroe Bank & Trust (MBT) as Director of Marketing in July 2015. He has a diverse background, most recently working at a regional bank headquartered in Buffalo, NY. At M&T Bank he had direct responsibilities for Commercial Bank Marketing and led a team of internal consultants, covering several states and specialty lending businesses.
Sarah Burkstrand
Vice President and Audit Manager
Ms. Burkstrand is the Internal Auditor of Monroe Bank & Trust. She joined MBT in 2000 as the Information Technology Auditor and was promoted to Vice President - Audit Manager in April 2009.
H. Douglas Chaffin
President and Chief Executive Officer-MBT Financial
Mr. Chaffin has served as President & CEO since 2004. He has served as a past Chairman of the Michigan Bankers Association, and was named Michigan Banker of the Year in 2011.
Gretchen Eyler
Senior Vice President, Commercial Loan Team Leader
Ms. Eyler leads commercial lending team members in meeting individual and department goals, and aids in servicing commercial client’s loan needs.
Vicki Franzen
Senior Vice President, Group Services Manager
Ms. Franzen oversees the Business Services Department as well as the Retail Lending Group. Vicki joined MBT in 2003, was promoted to Vice President in 2006 and to Senior Vice President in 2009.
Ihab Hamka
Vice President, Managing Director Administration
Mr. Hamka joined MBT in March 2004 and currently serves as Vice President & Managing Director of Administration within the Wealth Management Group. He began his banking career at Michigan National Bank in 1991 and has over 20 years of experience in the Wealth Management area.
Jim Hill
Vice President, Commercial Loan Review Officer
Mr. Hill joined MBT in 1985 as an Officer in both Lending and Accounting. He has lead the Loan Review team for over 15 years.
Michael Irvin
Senior Vice President Special Assets Group
Mr. Irvin has been in the financial services industry since 1995 and joined MBT in 2002. Mike is responsible for all loan collection functions.
Diane Kamprath
Vice President, Managing Director Operations & Compliance
Diane joined the Trust Department of Monroe Bank and Trust in 1988. She has been promoted through various functions within the department during her tenure and is now Vice President, Managing Director of Operations and Compliance with the Wealth Management Group. Diane holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University, and has continued her professional studies at the Midwest Trust School. She has also completed the academic requirements at Bowling Green State University to become a Certified Financial Planner.
Darren LaLonde
Senior Vice President, MBT North Community President
Mr. LaLonde, a graduate of Oakland University in 1988, has 24 years of commercial lending experience in southeastern Michigan. Darren was approached in 2009 to join Monroe Bank and Trust as a Vice President Commercial Loan Officer to assist in commercial loan growth in Wayne County. He was appointed to Senior Vice President, MBT North Community President in October of 2013. He continues to lead the commercial lending team and assists in the region’s marketing and business development.
Michael J. Lash
Vice President, Controller
Mr. Lash has over 29 years of banking experience spending the first 18 of those years in the Accounting Department at Charter Bank in Wyandotte, Michigan where he became V.P. and Controller. Mr. Lash joined Monroe Bank & Trust in 2002 and is currently V.P. & Controller overseeing the bank’s accounting operations.
Donald M. Lieto
Executive Vice President, Continuity and Acquisition Integration Director
Mr. Lieto is responsible for the oversight of Deposit Operations, Facilities Management, and Information Technology at the bank. He is also responsible for the development of a comprehensive acquisition integration play book. Mr. Lieto originally joined MBT in 1972. After working 5 years for a bank data processing company, he re-joined MBT in 1983 as Assistant Vice President & Data Processing Manager. In 1987 he was promoted to 2nd Vice President and assumed management responsibility for the bank’s deposit operations, item and data processing receiving subsequent promotions to Vice President-Information Center Manager in 1996 and Senior Vice President-Information Services in 2000. In 2004, Mr. Lieto was named Executive Vice President & Senior Administration Manager with the added responsibility for the oversight of MBT’s Retail Group.
Paula Lipper
Vice President, Mortgage Loan Officer
Ms. Lipper oversees the Mortgage Department. Paula joined MBT in 1994 and has been in the financial services industry for over 25 years.
Aaron Mason
Vice President, Mortgage Department Manager
Mr. Mason joined MBT in 1998 and currently oversees the Mortgage Department. He has over 26 years of experience in the financial services industry in a variety of areas including commercial lending and branch management.
Scott E. McKelvey
Executive Vice President, Regional President Wayne County
Mr. McKelvey currently serves as Regional President Wayne County. Prior that he served as Executive Vice President & Sr. Officer of the Wealth Management Group. He joined Monroe Bank & Trust in 2002 as Community President for MBT Downriver, overseeing the bank’s expansion into Southeastern Michigan’s Downriver communities.
Audrey Mistor
Executive Vice President, Wealth Management Group Manager
Ms. Mistor is a 33 year banker whose experience includes President of Main Street Bank, Director of Retail Products and Services at Republic Bank and positions at Michigan National Bank including Director of Independence One Mutual Funds, Investment Portfolio Manager, Investment Banking Controller, Strategic Planning, Manager of Asset Quality Management and Credit Administration Controller. She currently serves as Executive Vice President Wealth Management Group Manager. Ms. Mistor holds an Master of Science degree from Central Michigan University and a BA from Siena Heights University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Mr. Myers is responsible for all aspects of the lending function of the bank and the delivery of products related to the Business Services Department. Tom joined MBT in 2002 following 20 years of commercial banking experience in Ohio and Michigan.

David Rever
Senior Vice President, Managing Director Investments
As Senior Vice President, Managing Director Investments, David Rever, CFA leads a team of wealth management professionals in the critical functions of economic and investment analysis, portfolio modeling and reviewing fixed income instrument integrity. David comes to MBT with over 20 years of extensive experience as a financial analyst and portfolio manager. His background also includes expertise as a financial planner for high net worth clients. David worked for 13 years as a portfolio manager and analyst at Birmingham, MI based Munder Capital Management, rising to the position of Senior Fixed Income Analyst. He also worked in significant analyst positions at Woodbridge Capital and Comerica Bank. Before entering a career in finance, David helped small business owners and entrepreneurs to plan, finance, launch and grow their businesses as a counselor at the Wayne State University Small Business Development Center. David graduated from Wayne State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Ms. Riley has over ­19 years of experience in banking, management, sales, and operations. Jamie oversees 12 Retail Branches. She joined MBT in 2001 as an Assistant Branch Manager and was promoted to 2nd Vice President, Regional Service Manager in 2006 and has served in her current position since 2009.

Vice President, Risk Management Officer
Mr. Scott is responsible for the physical protection, training and fraud investigation for Monroe Bank & Trust.
John L. Skibski
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Skibski joined MBT in 1994 and has been EVP & CFO since 2003. He is responsible for Accounting, Finance, SEC Reporting, Asset/Liability Management, and Investments.
Bonnie S. Snyder
Assistant Vice President, Executive Administrative Officer
Ms. Snyder currently serves as Assistant to President H. Douglas Chaffin & Acting Secretary to the Board of Directors. Bonnie has been in the financial services industry since 1984 and joined MBT in 1999.
Richard A. Spencer II
Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Mr. Spencer is responsible for Information Technology, Data Center Operations, Item Processing, and eCommerce. He joined MBT in 2004 and was promoted to CIO during 2014.
Angela Szuma
Vice President, Regional Manager
Ms. Szuma has over 19 years of experience in banking, management, sales, and operations. Angela oversees 12 Retail Branches. She joined MBT in 2005 as a Branch Manager and was promoted to 2nd Vice President, Regional Service Manager in 2008 and has served in her current position since 2011.
Wendy Warrington-Parker
Senior Vice President, Organizational Effectiveness Director
Ms. Warrington-Parker is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the area of human resource which includes recruiting and retention, performance management, talent management, employee relations, compensation and benefits that support the organization's mission, vision, values and strategic plan. Ms. Warrington-Parker is also responsible for the oversight of MBT’s Retail Group, which includes all MBT Branches and the Customer Service Center. Wendy joined the MBTeam in 2003. She has over 10 years of experience in banking and human resources.
Andrew Weisenburger
Senior Vice President, Managing Director Administration
Andy joined Monroe Bank & Trust in 2007, having previously served as a Relationship Manager in a wealth management group in Toledo, Ohio. In that role, Andy managed over 250 client accounts totaling more than $200M in assets. He also served as a Fiduciary Officer, and gained valuable experience in estate and succession planning, taxes and investments. Andy currently serves as Senior Vice President, Managing Director Administration. Prior to his career in wealth administration, Andy served as an attorney with a Toledo-based law firm. Andy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Xavier University in Cincinnati and obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo.

Edwin L. Harwood
Mr. Harwood founded Harwood Investment Strategies, LLC., an investment advisory firm located in Monroe, Michigan, in 2005. He previously served as Vice President and General Manager of Ed Harwood Buick-Pontiac, Inc. He holds a B.A. in Financial Administration from Michigan State University.
John L. Skibski
Mr. Skibski joined MBT in 1994 and has been EVP & CFO since 2003. He is responsible for Accounting, Finance, SEC Reporting, Asset/Liability Management, and Investments.
Peter H. Carlton
Mr. Carlton is a member (partner) of Cooley, Hehl, Wohlgamuth & Carlton, PLLC, CPA.
H. Douglas Chaffin
President and Chief Executive Officer-MBT Financial
Mr. Chaffin has served as President & CEO since 2004. He has served as a past Chairman of the Michigan Bankers Association, and was named Michigan Banker of the Year in 2011.
Karen Colina-Wilson Smithbauer
Karen M. Wilson is the Chairman and CEO of Central Distributors of Beer, Inc. of Romulus, Michigan. She is an active community member, including being a Board Member to Everybody Ready, the Downriver Council for the Arts, and The Information Center. She is also involved with the Downriver Guidance Clinic, the New Morning School and is past President to the Jaycee Auxiliary.

Throughout her career, Ms. Wilson has received several awards and accolades including the Chairman’s Gavel Award from the Michigan Beer & Wine Wholesalers Association, Entrepreneur of the Year from Ernest & Young, the Women of Distinction Award from the Huron Valley Girl Scout Council and the Michigan’s Top 25 Women Business Owners of Distinction from the National Association of Women Business Owners.
Joseph S. Daly
Mr. Daly is the President and General Counsel of Daly Merritt Inc., a Michigan-based Independent Insurance Agency. He is also employed as the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
James F. Deutsch
James F. Deutsch, 59, is a partner in Patriot Financial Partners, LP, a private equity company that invests in community banks nationwide. Prior to Patriot, he was Founder, President and CEO of Team Capital Bank. He has over 35 years of banking experience. He currently serves on the board of Sterling Bancorp, Atlantic Community Bankers Bank, Avenue Bank and Bannockburn Global Forex, LLC, in addition to several not-for-profit boards. Mr. Deutsch received his B.S. and MBA from Lehigh University.
Tony Scavuzzo
Tony Scavuzzo, CFA (33), is a Principal at Castle Creek Capital and joined the firm in 2009. Mr. Scavuzzo is responsible for the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities, transaction execution, and portfolio company monitoring. He has led or supported investments in numerous recapitalization, distressed, and growth situations and works with executive management teams on strategic planning, operational improvements, acquisitions, and capital financings. He is currently working with the board of directors of Eastern Virginia Bankshares (NASDAQ: EVBS), MBT Financial (NASDAQ: MBTF), and SouthCrest Financial Group and serves on various board committees regarding governance, compensation, and risk.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Scavuzzo worked in an operating role for the Chief Executive Officer at MB Financial Bank (NASDAQ: MBFI) in Chicago where he was responsible for evaluation of merger and acquisition opportunities and capital investment strategy. He also held positions in various departments including corporate treasury, asset/liability management, wealth management, and credit analysis.

Mr. Scavuzzo was formerly Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors for the CFA Society of San Diego and past Chairman of the Finance Committee for the CFA Society of Chicago.

Mr. Scavuzzo holds a M.B.A. in Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business and a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Iowa. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
Debra J. Shah
Ms. Shah is retired after 26 years as President of Sensational Beginnings, a catalog and internet retailer of children’s products.
