Jeffrey V. Haley

Jeffrey V. Haley was named President of American National Bank and Trust Company, as well as the Executive Vice President of American National Bankshares Inc. in June 2010. On Jan. 1, 2012, he was named Chief Executive Officer of American National Bank and Trust Company and President of its holding company, American National Bankshares Inc. On Jan. 1, 2013, he became President and Chief Executive Officer of both the bank and the holding company. Prior to these positions, Haley served as Senior Vice President of the bank as well as President of Trust and Financial Services. He also spent time as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the bank. Haley is a graduate of James Madison University and the North Carolina School of Executive Bank Management. Active in many professional and civic organizations, he currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, and he serves as a board member for the following organizations: the City of Danville Employees’ Retirement System Board of Trustees, Bankers Insurance, the Danville Rotary Club, the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Bankers Association Management Services Inc. He is also an executive board member and former Chairman of Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he serves as Treasurer of the Future of the Piedmont Foundation.

H. Gregg Strader has over 30 years of experience in the banking industry. An alumnus of Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., Strader also holds an MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business in St. Louis, MO. He has worked with various financial institutions, including Wachovia Corporation/First Union for 23 years, The Boatmen’s National Bank of St.Louis for three years, and Integra Financial Corporation, Pittsburgh, PA for a year. Prior to joining American National, he served four years as Executive Vice President & Chief Credit Officer for IBERIABANK Corporation in New Orleans, La. His expertise ranges from management of lending, credit due diligence and risk management to mergers and integrations and strategic leadership. Having previously served on the board of the YMCA of Greensboro and as a trustee for Greensboro Day School, he currently serves on the board for the United Way of Greensboro. Strader was named Chief Banking Officer on January 1, 2014.

William W. Traynham Jr., joined the company in 2009 as the Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary of American National Bankshares Inc. and American National Bank & Trust Company. Prior to joining American National, he worked as CFO for the following financial institutions: Community Bankshares, Inc. and Community Resource Bank, N.A. He is an alumnus of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where he earned a bachelor’s in management science and accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking of the South.

Charles H. Majors joined American National in 1993 as President of both the bank and the holding company. Shortly thereafter, in 1994, his role expanded to include the responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer of both entities. From January 2013 through December 2014, he served as Executive Chairman of both the holding company and the bank. On Jan. 1, 2015, he became non-executive Chairman of the Board of both the holding company and the bank. Prior to joining American National, Majors was President and Partner of Clement & Wheatley, one of the largest law firms in south central Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Auburn University and his law degree from the University of Virginia. Majors was awarded an honorary doctorate in humanities from Averett University. Active in many professional and civic organizations, he served as the 2010-2011 Chairman of the Virginia Bankers Association. In 2013, he was President of the Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Currently the Chairman of the Future of the Piedmont Foundation, Majors is a past Chairman of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership Board of Directors, the Danville Public School Board, Danville Regional Foundation and the Averett University Board of Trustees. Other current or past civic affiliations include serving as an officer or director of the following: the Womack Foundation, the United Way, the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, the Danville Rotary Club and the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research. He received the 2013 Citizenship Award from the Kiwanis Club of Danville.
